    Understanding buyer confirmation

What happens during awaiting buyer confirmation and what a seller can and cannot influence.

    Sellers1 min read

Awaiting buyer confirmation is the review window from the seller's side. This guide explains how it ends and what a seller should do while it runs.

    How the window ends

    • The buyer confirms receipt and the transaction moves to release pending.
    • The window closes with no confirmation and no reported problem, and the transaction moves to release pending.
    • The buyer reports a problem and the transaction moves to under review.

What you can do while it runs

Make sure your fulfilment record is complete, respond to buyer questions on the transaction, and keep your delivery references on file. Complete records are what a review works from if one is opened.

Do not ask a buyer to confirm before they have received the order. Confirmation obtained that way is the weakest possible position if the transaction is later reviewed.
