    Understanding transaction states

A plain-language map of every state a transaction can show, and what each one means for you.

Both sides of a transaction read the same state. This guide explains what each state means, who is expected to act next, and which states are final.

    Standard states

    • Payment safeguarded — the buyer has paid and the funds are safeguarded against this transaction.
    • Ready for fulfillment — the seller can dispatch, deliver or perform.
    • Awaiting buyer confirmation — fulfilment was recorded and the buyer is reviewing.
    • Release pending — confirmation happened, or the review window closed, and settlement is being prepared.
    • Settlement released — funds have been released to the seller's settlement destination.

    Exception states

    • Under review — a problem was reported and the transaction is being reviewed.
    • Evidence requested — one or both parties have been asked for specific evidence, with a stated window.
    • Refund processing — a refund outcome was recorded and is being executed.
    • Refund completed — the refund has been executed.

    Who acts next

Each state names one responsible side. Payment safeguarded and ready for fulfillment wait on the seller. Awaiting buyer confirmation waits on the buyer. Under review and evidence requested wait on whoever was asked. Release pending, settlement released, refund processing and refund completed are handled by ArosaPay.

If a state has not changed when you expected it to, the transaction record shows the timestamp of the last change and any open request against it.
